About The Role

To assist with the track and facilities services for the Stadium to maintain the effective delivery of the greyhound racing product whilst providing a safe environment for colleagues, customers and contractors by ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety regulations, as well as compliance with other statutory legislation. A valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the racing surface is safe for the running of greyhounds at all times and presented in line with instructions from the Track & Maintenance Supervisor/Manager;
  • To implement and enforce GBGB and local rules of racing;
  • To ensure all equipment, plant and machinery, required for the trial and race programme of the Stadium is maintained to the highest level to ensure continuity of all race and trial meetings;
  • To use relevant machinery in line with HSSE requirements
  • To operate the hare and camera when required during trial or race meetings
  • To ensure all grounds of the stadium are maintained to the highest level in order to present an attractive and welcoming image to our customers;
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests made by the Track & Maintenance Manager and Track & Maintenance Supervisor.

Health & Safety and Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all equipment used by the Track & Maintenance team is working safely and is aligned with manufacturer’s guidelines for operation, reporting any concerns to the Track & Maintenance Manager.
  • You are required to follow the Work Instruction Notices (WIN), or Stadia Operating Procedures (SOP) that are relevant to your role. These can be found on the company Intranet.
  • The company may also communicate ad hoc notifications through line managers and notices boards - these will also form a part of your health and safety responsibilities.

Valid certificates in the following areas required:

  • Fire marshal/fire warden
  • Tractor driving
  • Working at height
  • Manual handling
  • Asbestos awareness
  • GBGB License Holder
