This role owns and drives the strategy for Sports Book propositions and promotions across Europe & Canada, to meet the needs of the target audience and delivering a seamless and entertaining customer experience.  

 

This includes working with Product and Marketing to define the key propositions innovations required to attract and retain key customer segments and ensuring these are developed and launched in line with operational and budgetary commitments, effectively monitored, and optimised to maximise performance over time. 

 

The role is also responsible for developing and managing the promotional calendar for Sports Book which involves developing the promotions themselves, partnering with Director of Commercial Performance & Sportsbook Product functions to align on bonus costs, and working with Marketing Teams to ensure the promotions are effectively delivered to customers.   



Key responsibilities:

    • Lead the development of the Sportsbook Proposition strategy for Europe & Canada with the Sportsbook Director, Director of Commercial Performance, and the respective Product and Marketing leaders and teams.
    • Work with Sportsbook Director and leadership teams to define the Product strategy for Europe & Canada to support the overall growth strategy of the Core Digital business.
    • Design and drive the delivery of compelling, differentiating propositions & promotions for Sportsbook, partnering with Marketing, Commercial, Product and wider Entain functions.
    • Work with the Sportsbook Director, Commercial, Marketing and Finance to develop appropriate financial and operational targets, and for specific proposition & promotional activities.
    • Work with the Commercial & Product teams to ensure that planned activity is in line with budgeted bonus investment on an ongoing basis, driving remediation actions where necessary or new activities if opportunities exist.
    •  Partner with Product teams & Tech to ensure the delivery of propositions and promotions in line with agreed operational timings.
    • Partner with Head of Sportsbook Content Team to ensure that all propositions and promotions are delivered effectively, reliably and consistently for the customer.
    •  Lead the coordination of the new proposition and promotion launches – ensuring that all teams are aligned and executing in line with strategy and financial and operational goals.
    •  Partner with the Commercial Team to ensure that robust reporting is in place for all proposition and promotional activities and that performance is appropriately analyzed and understood. 
    • Drive the improvement of performance for propositions promotions over time through optimizing offer, CX or marketing – partnering with broader stakeholders where required.
    •  Support the Sportsbook Director to develop, implement and manage the operational plan for Sportsbook outlining key activities and events across each calendar year.
    • Where performance gaps exist, work with Commercial, Product and Marketing teams to develop appropriate remediation plans are developed and executed.
    • Partner with the Sportsbook Content Team, Customer Services, Entain Operational Teams and other stakeholders to ensure that all propositions are operationally delivered effectively and provide the very best customer experience – Where customer issues are identified, provide support as required to remediate issues.
    •  Ensure all propositions are created and delivered in a compliant manner – Where issues are identified, provide support as required to rapidly remediate issues.
    •  You will be the primary business relationship owner with the Sportsbook Product and Technology functions; communicating the business strategy and specific customer ‘needs’ as the starting point for ideation, solutioning, delivery and ‘go-to-market' planning & execution of new products and propositions that will align to respective brand led strategies.
    •  Coordinate support from the Sportsbook Commercial and Marketing teams by way of assessment and validation of business cases to support all prioritization processes with Product and tech teams.
    •  Support the Sportsbook Director to ensure that Sportsbook activities are conducted to the highest possible standards in terms of player protection & sustainability.
    • Ensure all Propositions & Promotions are developed and delivered in line with all regulations, legislation and the organisations very high bar for Responsible Gambling. 



Specialist skills and experience:

Essential: 

    • Proven track record developing and delivering propositions in direct-to-consumer businesses with top tier brands.
    • Extensive experience of promotional planning and management.
    •  Extensive experience with operational planning and forecasting in complex businesses.
    • Track record of working on / leading significant change projects in matrix organisations.
    • Demonstrable evidence of being able to effectively influence at senior levels of an organisation.
    •  Experience working on strategy – owning or playing a key part in developing growth agendas for consumer businesses.
    • Experience of working in a complex/dynamic fast paced environment.
    •  Experience interpreting and responding to customer insight / research.
    •  Clear leadership experience and people management with significant teams. 


Desirable: 

    • Experience in Sportsbook or other betting industry verticals.
    • Working knowledge of technology platforms that delivery Sports Book products.
    • Working knowledge of marketing disciplines i.e., branding, advertising, segmentation, CRM.
