As a People Partner for the North East region you will provide HR operational support to Regional Directors and Area Managers and will input into, and support the implementation of, the region’s people plan. 

Reporting to the Senior Retail People Partner, you will be part of our UK Retail HR Team  who are responsible for providing operational HR and guidance to Area Managers.

What you'll do
  • Effectively partner Area Managers providing coaching, training, support and challenge.
  • Assist the Regional Director and Senior HRBP in monitoring Area Manager performance and capability, identifying where additional support or training is needed.
  • Implement Organisation change activity with the regional management teams.
  • Assist the ER team and Area Managers on complex ER cases to bring these to conclusion.
  • Support the implementation of key programmes to drive cultural change and improved business performance e.g. Performance Development, Management Development, Engagement Surveys.
  • Represent the Retail HR Team on HR projects which may span all of Retail and/or the wider business e.g. engagement survey, shop closures etc.
  • Actively participate in the Regional Employee Forum meetings, listening to colleague concerns and feedback and driving the delivery of actions through Area Managers.
  • Be highly visible in the field, regularly visiting shops with Area Managers, providing them with feedback and guidance and meeting shop colleagues to improve engagement.

Who you are:

  • Ideally CIPD qualified and Degree educated, although candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience of working within an Ulrich business partner model and within a matrix model
  • Ability to handle complex issues and a capability to make sound judgement decisions in time pressured situations.
  • Ability to use data and insight to influence and make decisions
  • Strong technical generalist
