Senior Group Accountant

As a Senior Group Accountant you will be responsible for all internal and external consolidated statutory reporting including the Group P&L, Balance Sheet and cashflow and will assist divisional finance teams in ensuring Group policies have been adopted appropriately, assessing appropriate accounting treatments and supporting the Head of Statutory Reporting in the assessment of the quality of the divisional Balance Sheet control in both existing businesses and newly acquired companies.

Reporting to Head of Statutory Reporting, you will be part of the Group Finance team who are responsible for providing accurate and timely consolidated financial information both internally and externally as well as driving global control improvements and providing support to trading divisions.

What you will do 

  • Management of the Group consolidation of a £5bn turnover business with divisions around the world on a monthly and ad hoc basis, including providing detailed analysis of variances, advice on accounting treatments and the detailed reconciliation of FX.
  • Responsible for the continual improvement of the Group consolidation improving both central and divisional processes as well as incorporating newly acquired businesses.
  • Management and delivery of quarterly consolidated reforecast/plan balance sheet and cashflow models.
  • Responsible for the accounting and statutory integration of new acquisitions, including the IFRS 3 fair value exercise, monthly reporting cadence and accounting policy alignment.
  • Responsible for the capex reporting and Group level reconciliation including commentary, analysis and control for over £500m of fixed assets and £6bn of intangible assets.
  • Responsible for the oversight of divisional IFRS 16 accounting including assisting on accounting queries.
  • Implementation of a new Group reporting framework to instill greater discipline over Group reporting packs and statutory disclosures.
