We are hiring a Global Payroll Programme Lead to join us here at Entain for a 12m FTC role. We are seeking someone who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the governance, discovery, design and implementation of complex Payroll projects and programme(s). You will be a strong leader who can convert strategic vision into a practical plan of delivery to maximise benefits to the business. You will be confident managing across multiple work streams, coordinating various initiatives,ensuring alignment with business goals, and driving the successful execution of the programme(s).  Your responsibilities will include direct and indirect management, coaching and development of project teams, and ensuring the appropriate capability and capacity management across the team. You will develop and embed programme governance to ensure the right level of decision-making and control across the programme(s).

What you will do (but not limited to)

This role will be key in delivering our strategy and will demonstrate exceptional leadership and influencing skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on a global scale. We are looking for someone with global payroll expertise to challenge our assumptions and ways of working and see every challenge as an opportunity for improvement.

  • Lead the global payroll discovery and health check to be able to identify and map our areas of strength, opportunity and risk. Understand and map across Entain’s ecosystem the payroll regulatory requirements, tax laws, and labour regulations in different countries.
  • Develop, in partnership with Finance and HR Operations, a global payroll strategy aligned with Entain’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Leading the end-to-end implementation of global payroll programs, including project planning, resource allocation,and timeline management. They ensure that payroll systems are integrated with other HR and finance systems.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, including HR, finance, legal, IT, and external vendors, to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment across departments.
  • Ensuring compliance with local tax laws, labour regulations, and data privacy requirements in each country where Entain operates. They also manage risks related to payroll processing, such as data security and accuracy.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline payroll processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs through implementing automation, standardizing procedures, and optimizing technology solutions.
  • Overseeing relationships with incumbent payroll service providers and other vendors, working closely with Procurement in contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Managing the change process associated with implementing new payroll systems or processes, including communication,training, and user adoption.

 

Who you are:

  • Professional qualification in Portfolio or Programme Management (e.g. MSP or other) is desirable
  • Experience with HR systems such as Service Now and Oracle would be ideal for this role.
  • Proven experience as a Programme Manager/lead, managing large-scale, complex business and technical programmes and projects from initiation to completion across a global landscape
  • Working knowledge of Payroll, HCM and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms e.g. Oracle, and data/ integration projects
  • Payroll Expertise with a strong understanding of payroll processes, regulations, and compliance requirements across multiple countries or regions. This includes knowledge of tax laws,labor regulations, and data privacy standards.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools to effectively plan, execute, and monitor global payroll programs. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects is essential.
  • A Strategic Thinker
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including HR,finance, legal, IT, external vendors, and local authorities.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess compliance requirements, identify risks, and implement controls to mitigate them.
  • A meticulous approach to data accuracy and quality assurance, with the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with established standards.
