Objective of the role:  

As the Product Owner for Sportsbook you will lead our sportsbook strategy across the Unikrn platform for traditional wagering products and the next generation of sportsbook products. You will work with our world class Product and Technology teams spanning Australia, Germany, Croatia, India and the USA. 

Along with the VP of Product, manage the roadmap and direction of our sportsbook at Unikrn with a focus on creation, innovation and optimizing our product offering. You will be part of a team working to deliver some of the most innovative and engaging products and customer experiences in the gaming industry.

Role Responsibilities 


  • Facilitate a prioritized backlog for the team, ordering the items in the Product Backlog to best achieve goals and ensuring initiatives are aligned with the product vision and plan

  • Define and draft clear and comprehensive tickets including user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira

  • Participate and contribute to quarterly planning 

  • Maintain and track product KPIs using this data to inform decision making, pivoting where required

  • Ensure a healthy product backlog and understand and manage any blockers.

  • Listen to and interact with customers, leadership teams, product managers, technology, marketing and other product dev teams to formulate requirements for your epics and features

  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to conduct and/or oversee research, metrics analysis, building KPI’s and measurement against these

  • Develop and apply actions that promote strong customer focus and standards. Act with the customer in mind and continually look for innovations and improvements to the customer experience of the work you do.

  • Be a key point of contact for stakeholders and oversee the progression of products through development, testing and release, including regular reporting on progress 

  • Champion and foster agile practices and principles and their application to the product delivery process.

  • Build and evolve a high performing team that fosters strong relationships with open & honest feedback

  • Manage the continual monitoring of industry trends and user feedback to anticipate business needs, while also collecting requirements from stakeholders

  • Build best practice processes, integrating with Marketing, Data, Product and CRM to support our acquisition and retention goals


    Key Skills Required

    • First hand experience working in wagering, or a passion for sports betting

    • Experience with Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analyst or similar

    • Ability to independently lead conversations with senior leaders.

    • Track record in collaborating with developers and subject matter experts to refine the customer experience

    • Previous experience of working in a software development environment

    • Analytical approach to problem solving and attention to detail

    • Experience managing a team, leading and coordinating projects

    • Able to liaise with  distributed teams from different disciplines to deliver product milestones on time

    • A relentless learning mindset. Take ownership of both the wins and the losses, and take action to get more of the former.

    • Ability to manage multiple initiatives at once in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment

    • The ability to make quick decisions and iterate often.

    • Passion for learning and always improving yourself and the team around you

    • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and friendly at all times

    • Excellent Communication skills – both verbal and written

    • Customer Centric, "can do" attitude - Always curious about their experience.

    Exceptional candidates will have the following additional skills

    • Previous Sportsbook Product Owner experience

    • Growth hacking, pragmatic marketing, product management certification or education preferred.

    • Track record in innovation and creation of sticky experiences

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Design, or related field. 

    • Professional experience in industries such as software engineering, design, data analysis.
