Partnering with our Ladbrokes and Coral brands in the Retail division, there can be up to 15,000 end users of the Power BI across our UK & Ireland estate at any one time, driving business critical decision-making and processes.

The Role & responsibilities:
As an integral part of the Retail Finance team, we are looking to advance the use of Power BI and the rest of the Microsoft Stack within the department and beyond, to aid with automation and reduce time spent on manual processes. Power BI is widely used, from senior management right down to shop staff, meaning that the team have a high degree of exposure to all aspects of the business.

We are therefore looking for a Junior Power BI Developer who is keen to embark on a career in Data Analytics, but will ultimately develop into someone who is capable of: 

  • Leading large-scale Power BI projects, liaising with internal stakeholders to turn requirements into solutions 
  • Being an expert in Power BI, supporting the data & analytics team and driving best practice.
  • Owning all aspects of the project implementation, deployment and governance of Power BI. 

Initially, your responsibilities will include:

  • Solving and answering the ad-hoc queries that arise from the current set of reporting suites
  • Performing cyclical maintenance tasks regarding updating the reports as we roll across reporting periods
  • Logic changes in reports to accommodate any new data profiles or KPI changes
  • Making amendments to the security tables for all interim requirements, structure changes and secondments 
  • Data extraction requests

In the medium term, we are looking for a person who can become a fully-fledged developer. Once you are there, you can look forward to being involved with some of the following: 

Power BI 

  • Designing, building and implementing market-leading Power BI reporting suites that drive clear commercial benefits for the division and the group
  • Managing Power BI capacities, including managing workspaces, apps, performance of capacities, security/access and report/dataflow refreshesDeveloping a strong understanding of the strategic infrastructure required to make Power BI rollout a success
  • Being comfortable enough to train others and advising the stakeholders on best practices 

What we need from you:
This is an entry-level role, so technical experience is not required, as full training will be given. If you have a recent degree from a STEM background, that would be great, but we need someone who is willing to learn the following platforms: 

  • Power BI 
  • Power Apps 
  • DAX 
  • SQL 
  • Python 

In addition, the role will not require any supervisory experience (including the training of junior team members) or previous decision-making experience.
