About The Role

A Technical Project Manager is being sought to join the Technical Project Delivery team. The Technical Project Manager will lead and co-ordinate internal teams, 3rd parties and consultancies to ensure efficient and effective management and delivery of new infrastructure/systems into all environments across multiple geographical locations.

The role will also be a key link between the business teams, stakeholders and the technology delivery team, in aligning and tracking priorities, identifying issues, and managing projects and priorities. The role requires a combination of strong project management skills, a very strong technology background, analytics skills and business acumen.

The role will also require strategic thinking related to infrastructure, networks and technology. 

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead IT infrastructure projects, gather requirements and report on project status as per agreed project management framework standards. The project manager has to ensure communication in the right time and has to be able to represent the project and all its related aspects. 
  • Support project prioritisation and ensure common awareness of timelines and project objectives across the Technical Operations organisation. 
  •  Perform and consolidate project controlling measures on a regular basis, incl. resources (efforts and costs), timelines, structure (content), organisation, environment, risks and dependencies. 
 

What we need from you:

  • Strong project management skills - organizing, planning and executing multiple projects and resource plans. 
  • Strong leadership abilities with the drive to push project teams to deliver infrastructure projects quickly and efficiently.
  • Adept at working independently and work alongside a team.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills – capable of communicating and influencing at all departmental levels with both technical and non-technical individuals. 
  • Being able to "think out of the box" considering business targets as the driving force of activities. 
  • Technical background with experience in the following areas:
    • Database technologies; Oracle, MS-SQL
    • Server technologies; Windows Server, Linux
    • Web Server technologies; Apache, JBOSS, Tomcat 
    • Application technologies; Java, Active MQ
    • Networking technologies; LAN, WAN, Internet
    • Storage technologies; SAN, Storage Array, Enterprise Backup 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong service focus 
  • Experience of supplier management, contract negotiation and commercial management 
  • Driven, robust, self-motivated, delivery focused and able to withstand 24/7 pressure, and to challenge and be challenged 
  • Minimum 7+ years of technical project management experience 
  • Certification in IPMA / Prince 2 or comparable project management discipline 
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed team
Desired
  • Experience of commercial tendering processes for IT equipment and Datacenter Services 
  • Strong technical project management experience in an online e-business company 

Budgetary

  • Responsible for project costing and project budget management 
  • Contribute to operational and capital budget forecasting
