About The Role
Job Title: Group Accountant
Location: Nottingham with Hybrid working

The Role in Nutshell 
The Group Accountant is a key member of the Statutory Reporting team designed to provide accurate and timely information internally and externally. Along with driving control and providing support in divisions.
 
As Group Accountant you will be responsible for the preparation of the monthly Group consolidation, weekly and monthly cash and net debt reporting and annual statutory accounts for a significant number of the group’s entities. 


What you'll be doing:
  • To prepare the monthly consolidation of a £3.6bn turnover multinational Group, including variance analysis, intercompany reconciliation and account balance reconciliations 
  • To produce weekly and monthly cash and net debt reporting, which ultimately is seen by the CFO.  Including liaising with Divisions and Treasury to understand movements and variances.
  • To be responsible for the subsidiary statutory accounts of a large proportion of the group’s entities (c.40) including preparation from TB, through audit and final completion procedures to signing.
  • To be responsible for the financial accounting for all Group Finance companies, including month end processes, reconciliations, reporting and determining the appropriate accounting treatments for finance company related items (derivative financial instruments and loans) in accordance with IFRS.  
  • To be a key point of contact for divisions on accounting question/queries.
  • To provide support during the half year and year end audit process, including statutory notes and the external audit process.
  • To assist in the development of a more robust cash and net debt forecasting process to support the statutory forecasting process.
  • To identify and make improvements in the consolidation and subsidiary accounts processes.
  • Responding to ad hoc analysis requests from the Group Statutory Accountant and the Group Financial Accountant and other senior finance people. 
  • Key contact for external statutory surveys.
What we need from you:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA)
  • Advanced FRS101/102 and IFRS knowledge 
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of Oracle R12 and/ or Oracle Fusion
