About The Role

Title: Data Privacy Manager (12 Month FTC Parental Cover)
Location: London
Salary: Dependent on experience + Driven bonus

Purpose of the role:

Leading the team to transform traditional privacy compliance into an operational center of excellence, made up of three critical programmes:

  • Data Privacy Programme
  • Data Retention Programme
  • Data Assurance Programme

Key Responsibilities:

Privacy Programme Management

  • Ensuring alignment of the privacy programme with the strategic goals and objectives of the business and the privacy team.
  • Carrying out gap analysis and supervising programme maturity to drive continuous change to improve the efficiency of the programme.
  • Driving continual operational improvements and alignment to changing regulations, particularly through the acquisition of new businesses (M&A) and license deals to ensure global privacy compliance.
  • Leading and updating programme, which includes the group / core privacy programme, Retail, Stadia, HR and any individual privacy programmes (e.g. jurisdiction specific or through M&A)
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with privacy partners and DPOs across the business, particularly to implement or align privacy programmes, as well as growing visibility.
  • Establish, implement and monitor privacy processes, policies and guidance for the operational teams.
  • Oversight of the data retention and assurance programmes
  • Supporting the implementation of the data privacy assurance programme, which may include being assigned to workstream groups / tasks for completion or signing off to confirm actions have sufficiently been met.
  • Leading the deployment of privacy improving tooling and technologies, which includes carrying out demos, support POCs and tool implementation.

Strategic Team Development

  • Working with the Chief Privacy Officer to establish the team’s objectives and strategy year on year.
  • Leading and chairing team strategy sessions throughout the year.
  • Tracking team objectives to supervise progress.
  • Leading and working with people managers in the team to ensure the appraisal process (particularly for the operations teams) is being followed.

Board and Committee Reports

  • Working with the Chief Privacy Officer to support with any updates or reports on privacy to senior partners, including to the ESG and Risk Committees, as well as the General Counsel.
  • Support, where required, as part of our submissions to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

Risk Register

  • Keeping the privacy risk register up to date.
  • Carrying out quarterly reviews of risk register and raising to senior privacy colleagues with suggested mitigations, or to seek mentorship.
  • Supervising the risks and assigning risk owners

Data Privacy Budget

  • Assisting with the assignment and management of the budget and allocation of resource across the team.
  • Establishing and implementing the recruitment plan for the year, including reviewing CVs and carrying out interviews with candidates.
  • Collaborating closely with finance to keep track of costs
  • Maintaining the relationship and costs associated with privacy subscriptions and team development costs (e.g. the IAPP), as well as regulator registrations (legal entities and DPO registrations).

Training & Awareness

  • Leading Entain's training and awareness programmes to promote a privacy culture across the organisation.
  • Leading on the annual training for Data Privacy (Big6); updating and preparing new content with the learning team and any external providers, ensure we are on track with allocated budget spend, signing off on internal communications plan and supervising completion rates.
  • Devising and actioning data privacy communications plan

Other project support

  • AI & Data Ethics charter.
  • New policy framework rollout, including part of policy working group.
  • Supporting on any new customer research projects, including execution of annual plan (in line with budget).
  • PowerBI dashboard project.
  • Advising on new data driven projects and initiatives, e.g. DPIAs.
  • Providing data privacy advice on queries from the business, or data incidents, where required.

Specialist Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in project or programme management.
  • People management experience.
  • Excellent understanding and keen curiosity about privacy laws & regulations (e.g. GDPR).
  • Strategic and analytical problem solver.
  • Highly organised and detail orientated.
  • Independent self-starter.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management.
  • Sophisticated IT skills (Microsoft Office).

Desired:

  • IAPP qualifications, such as Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and/or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).
  • Experience working in a data privacy team or other compliance / regulatory team or role.
  • Previous experience of working in the gambling or gaming sector, preferably in a global digital consumer business.
