The role in a nutshell:

We’re looking for a Delivery Manager to join our Trading-Tech team in Manchester!

Working across all brands, you’ll own the end to end technical delivery streams within trading technology and will work closely with Product Managers to define the roadmap for the stream’s products and translate this into a set of user stories.

Reporting to trading engineering management, we’ll rely on you to spot warning signs, foreseeing and removing blockers before they become problematic. You’ll lead a collaborative & dynamic planning process, prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of your team of Developers.

You will deliver projects using agile methodologies but grounded in a pragmatic results-driven approach. A strong “can-do” demeanor to succeed in a dynamic environment is an absolute must have along with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders within both the technical and commercial teams.

What you'll be doing:

  • Act as a bridge between the Development teams and the Product Owners.
  • Establish and supervise a regular, optimised release schedule for implementing change.
  • Identify, monitor, and control any risks, assumptions and constraints so that project outcomes are not affected.
  • Act as people manager for the developers and testers in your teams
  • Provide constructive challenges to senior management on various technological issues.

What we need from you:

Although you won’t be coding, you’ll take part in plenty of technical discussions and investigations, so you’ll need both a background in and deep understanding of technology. Experience delivering large scale integration projects within a fast-paced, technology-led environment is also vital.

Since this role will be driven by the sports calendar, we’re looking for a true sports fan with an understanding of trading. You will have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget in a highly pressurized 24/7 environment.

You are someone with high energy, who is happy to take the lead and has a proactive approach to implementing changes. You’ll be a real people person with an ability to influence senior stakeholders.
