Role Purpose:
The Business People team delivers a strategic People service to the business through functional people plans focused
on 4 pillars: Talent, Leadership & Capability, Culture and Organisation. People Business Partners lead the delivery of
the people plans into business functions, supported by People Generalist roles. People Generalist roles focus on
guiding and supporting people managers to deliver a great employee experience each and every day.
As part of the People Generalist team, the People Generalist role will provide guidance, coaching and support to
people managers across one or more business areas, in support of the people plan. The role will also work closely
with the People Business Partners supporting on key Group and Functional people projects.
Working closely with line managers to provide professional, commercial, timely and accurate support to the
management teams across the business ensuring a fair, appropriate and consistent approach to company policies
and procedures, promoting a positive climate and experience, whilst managing and minimising organisational risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support managers with the effective and efficient performance management of their teams, identifying and
facilitating appropriate interventions through the performance management processes.
- Provide professional advice and solutions in managing changes of terms and conditions of employment,
ways of working and other employment changes, that, if handled poorly create a negative impact on the
employee experience and/or reputational/financial damage to the organisation.
- To support People Business Partners in achieving engagement targets
- Partner with Regional People Operations Partners/Regional People Team to address local People needs that
require functional People support
- Use People Metrics and reporting to guide the business and People Business Partners on potential issues and
making recommendations for change
- Support key projects or initiatives as directed by the People Director or Head of People and provide general
support for work required/requested
Experience:
- Generalist People experience within a fast paced People environment
- Previous experience of providing generalist People services
- An up to date and general working knowledge of UK (European an asset) employment legislation
- A proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external
managers and contacts
- Verbal communication skills to communicate with all levels of the organisation. Confident at delivering
feedback.
- Written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports.
- Ability to write and present information on People metrics
- Experience in leading projects and implementing new initiatives
- Results and service focused
- Able to think outside of the box
