With the expansion of the global privacy team and the increasing workload produced by the privacy program, Entain’s Data Privacy team require additional data privacy support for our Portuguese, Iberian and LATAM markets.
We are looking for an English, Portuguese and Spanish-speaking data privacy specialist with international experience to be based in one of our offices, who may also assist the Data Protection team to cover other international markets in the EEA and South and Central America. This will, however, depend on business requirements such as Data Protection Officer appointments.
Experience and knowledge of EU, Portuguese, Brazilian and Spanish-speaking countries data protection laws and regulations is particularly desirable, affecting both customers who we market in those territories, as well as employees regarding their data protection rights. This role would also suit someone who comes from a regulatory or compliance background.

Key responsibilities |
In particular, the individual will be able to work as part of the global privacy team to assist with the following key workstreams;
- Negotiation of contracts related to data protection.
- Conducting due diligence on existing or new vendors (through the completion of data privacy assessments) and reviewing outputs on the OneTrust tool including advising the business on Data Protection Agreements and Data Transfers.
- Providing advice on Data Subject Requests (mainly access and deletion) from Portugal, Brazil or any other Iberian or LATAM individuals in particular (however may also include other requests from individuals based in Europe).
- Draft and/or regularly update existing and new Entain policies, such as customer and employee-facing privacy notices, cookie notice and data retention policy.
- Advising the business on applicable data protection laws, including strategic advice concerning data on topics such as M&A due diligence, marketing initiatives, entries in new markets, and any new or existing business projects that involve the use of personal data.
Data Protection Officer Responsibilities
- Being the point of contact in Portugal for all data protection related matters, the role could also expand to other LATAM jurisdiction depending on company’s need.
- Participate in internal or external forums or committees to discuss privacy matters, e.g. industry forum -such as the European Gaming and Betting Association, Regulatory workshops or internal DPO working groups.
- Liaising with the Portuguese Data Protection Authorities to inform them of any notifiable data breaches or in response to complaints made to the regulator.
- Preparing regulator notifications to the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (or another jurisdictions if needed) and assisting with investigations, in the event of a data breach.
- Advising on matters concerning data mapping exercises and the Record of Processing Activities for Portugal, LATAM or Spain.
- Embedding privacy-by-design methodology throughout the business, specifically to the Portuguese and LATAM regions
Specialist skills and experience |
Essential:
- Proficiency in Portuguese and Spanish.
- At least 3 years’ experience in privacy, compliance or regulatory roles.
- Degree-level qualified, such as Legal, Privacy or IT/Comms degree with a compliance add on.
- Experience dealing and negotiating with suppliers on data protection related topics.
- Previous experience and knowledge of data protection laws, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation, Portuguese data protection laws, Brazilian data protection laws or any other LATAM applicable laws.
- International experience outside of Portugal.
- Solid work approach and has the capacity to fulfil responsibilities with limited supervision whilst maintaining effective communications with the line manager and Chief Privacy Officer.
