WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and configure equipment and services based on Entain standards
- Planning, coordinating and performing maintenance activities, upgrades, patches and disaster recovery tests
- Conduct, analyze, recommend, and present performance and/or capacity analysis to assure systems reliability for current and/or future use
- Contribute to the resolution of incidents/changes for the Technology Operations team within Entain group in coordination with Head of Technology Operations, peers and other Technology Operations members
- Delivery of incident management to ensure the best possible levels of quality of service and availability are maintained
- Ensure change management procedures are followed and all steps in the process are documented and approved prior to execution
- Contribute to ensure infrastructure operations performance and availability meets agreed KPI’s, through proactive maintenance
- Evaluate group systems and explore the automation of tasks wherever possible
- Ensure cross-functional training within the team
- In conjunction with peers’ involvement in the rollout of additional capacity or new functionality
- Ensure monitoring systems are covering all necessary areas in the server systems area to ensure smooth operations including licensing compliance and act when necessary
- Ensure adherence to agreed operational processes
- Occasional Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that the group systems, processes and procedures are compliant with applicable regulations
WHO YOU ARE
- A passionate, hardworking, results-oriented Infrastructure Engineer who is ready to tackle new challenges
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with Unix systems maintenance in the enterprise environment
- Demonstrable experience in infrastructure operations
- Strong problem solving, understanding of RCA and analytical skills
- Server technologies: Solaris 11 both on SPARC and x86 architectures and a major Enterprise Linux server distribution (preferable Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Oracle Linux)
- Good understanding of Oracle Engineered Systems (Oracle Supercluster and/or Exadata)
- Hardware expertise on SPARC based systems up to and including enterprise servers up to and including M and T-series
- Virtualization with Solaris LDOM’s, domains and zones
- Solid understanding of SAN and NAS storage technologies, preferably EMC or 3PAR and iSCSI, FCoE, FC
- Proven knowledge at least one configuration management toolkit (eg. Ansible, Puppet, CFEngine)
- Willingness to be on-call
