This is a very interesting and varied role for a data engineer, working as an essential part of a small and ambitious team.

 
Key Responsibilities:
 
This role will be working on key Automation projects powered by analytics.
 
• Collaborate with data scientists and architects across multiple automation projects
• Produce and present low-level design for the implementation of agreed software
architectures
• Produce enterprise grade code and unit testing for data processing and integration
pipelines
• Optimize SQL code for deployment
• Design and instantiate cloud infrastructure required for extraction, transformation 
and loading of large datasets
• Produce deployment scripts
• Contribute to the hardening of our software development process effort
 
Essential:

• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in distributed high transactional volume backed 
development (Java, Scala or other language acceptable)
• Strong Python, SQL and Airflow are essential
• Enterprise experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and API technologies
• Google Big Query
• Cloud and App compute
• Experience designing code in cloud with NFR focus
• Experience of cloud cost estimation and optimization
• Experience of large enterprise SDLC and delivery practices (i.e. Agile)
• Experience working with very large datasets
