Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

The Security Officer is responsible for assisting with the safety and security of people and property within the Stadium. Be a point of contact in the event of any emergency or security incidents that occur on site during the events and race meetings. The protection of our colleagues, customers and visitors is at the core of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the correct uniform and ID is worn and a security radio is available and functional for all events and race meetings;
  • Secure the Stadium in accordance with Stadium regulations;
  • Keep up to date with Health & Safety and Compliance issues and report any concerns to the Security Supervisor;
  • Report accidents, incidents and near misses to the Safety Management centre;
  • Work within the Entain quality management system – following the relevant Arrangement, Managers Brief and Work Instruction Notices;
  • Complete reporting requirements on all areas using the template provided in a timely manner;
  • Ensure the Stadium operates within the requirements of its Safety Certificate and any relevant and applicable legislation;
  • Ensure that statutory and licensable activities within the Stadium are conducted in accordance with any relevant and applicable licensing conditions and licensing objectives. These are:
    • Age restricted sales – betting/alcohol
    • Data protection (GDPR)
    • Anti-bribery & corruption
    • Self-exclusion/player protection
  • Refer to the Emergency Procedures for any contingency arrangements that may arise;
  • Be the first responder and take remedial action to accidents and incidents when necessary;
  • Report security breaches to the Security Supervisor;
  • Carry out any other reasonable requests made by the Security Supervisor.

 Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • SIA Certification
  • First Aid and Health & Safety Qualifications

Specialist Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Security role;
  • Knowledge of sports safety/stewarding;
  • Knowledge of current legislation of drinks and gambling regulations;
  • Experience in training, communicating, stakeholder management;
  • Must be a decisive decision maker – able to deal with multiple issues without losing focus on our aim of keeping spectators, visitors and colleagues safe.
