In 2021, Entain acquired unikrn to launch the company’s esports practice. unikrn is one of the world’s preeminent esports betting platforms. unikrn paved the wave in the sports betting industry by offering esports odds across 35 titles, as well as virtual esports and streamer betting. unikrn also boasts a skill-based betting platform that allows players to wager on themselves in ranked matches in the world’s most popular gaming titles.

 

Objective of the role:

The role will involve - implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and improving computer systems (on Cloud Systems, mostly AWS) for test, development and production environments, hardening systems and security best practises. The role will provide technical expertise to staff and provide consultation for managers. The role will manage multiple technologies and makes sure that all technical policies are followed.

  

Role Responsibilities 

  • Diagnose -  fix issues being reported using tooling available and raw database quality bug reports to Product Owners, troubleshoot production and development environment issues and fix them / alert responsible team members

  • Monitoring Infrastructure and Applications (e.g. via Nagios, New Relic, Cloudwatch, Icinga2, Grafana, Data Dog or similar)

  • Improve general tooling and processes (Automation, Containerization)

  • Working closely  with our System Operations Engineer in Central Europe to ensure clear documentation

  • Collaborate with HR for user account management, user and office needs

  • Working closely  with our team to ensure clear documentation, and employees inventory management as well as user and office needs

  • Communicating  with security and tech compliance teams for new tooling as well as procurement for external services

  • Access and permission management for tooling and infrastructure

  • Improve general tooling and processes

  • Monitoring Infrastructure and Applications (e.g. via Nagios, New Relic, Cloudwatch, Icinga2, Grafana, Data Dog or similar)

 

Key Skills Required

  • Deep knowledge of AWS Cloud Architecture and containerization (Docker), at least 3 years of experience administering and managing AWS infrastructure and/or generally Linux environments

  • Understanding of CI / CD technologies and procedures

  • Experience with monitoring systems (e.g. Nagios, Icinga2, Cloudwatch or similar) 

  • Fluency in Command Line Interface (CLI)

  • General knowledge of scripting and programming languages (Bash, Python, PHP or others)

  • Attention to details regarding security best practices

  • Strong diagnostic skills and root cause analysis when troubleshooting

  • Optional: Kubernetes (EKS), CloudFormation and Terraform experience

  • Willingess with working in virtual teams across multiple regions, time zones, and cultures across the world

  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, additional language is a plus

Exceptional candidates will have the following additional skills:

  • AWS and Kubernetes  Administrator Certification or similar
