Our team is responsible for the delivery of data solutions and services across the Digital arm of our business. These range from owning an entire solution for data self-serve (Cubes) to provisioning a range of API-based services for Advanced Analytics initiatives. The QA Manager role is accountable for the quality assurance of all these implementations.

 

This role leads a team of testers, delivering manual and automated testing, ensuring that a quality product is delivered. The role is also tasked with delivering a cost-effective test capability, both from a team, test environment and process perspective.

 

The key objectives are to build core capability for Data testing, ensure the offshore development team in Hyderabad has the appropriate test capability, build an automated test capability, establish appropriate processes and practices within the team and provide comprehensive reporting to monitor and measure the quality output from the test cycles.

 

Your deliverables will instill confidence in the accuracy of our data-driven solutions and help our business leaders shape the strategic direction of the Business.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Devise and establish quality procedures, standards, and specifications
  • Define, own and drive the testing strategy
  • Create test plans, cases, and scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications
  • Shape and improve the QA and testing processes and team in line with continuous business and process improvement
  • Establish and ensure that a defect management process is followed during testing
  • Ensure that the right tools and technology are identified and adopted to support both Manual and Automation testing
  • Analyze and track QA-related artifacts and metrics for reporting and auditing purposes
  • Work with project stakeholders to determine the appropriate quality initiatives to implement during system development life cycles
  • Communicate quality standards and parameters to QA and development teams plus stakeholders.

     

  • Automation Testing
    • Responsible for defining and implementing the automation strategy across the teams
    • Create/Assist/Troubleshoot the development of Test Automation Framework, Standards, Procedures, Processes and Best practices as related to Test Automation
    • Maintain and guide Test Automation Suites Execution and undertake analysis of results to ensure that software meets or Exceeds specified standards and/or client and technical requirements
    • Define and report key performance metrics around automated testing
    • Develop and analyze new requirements and ensure new features are considered in test automation for a consistent experience across development

     

  • Management of a team
    • Line manage the QA team. Also, to manage any 3rd party or contracting testing resource
    • Prioritise work for team members
    • Mentoring and training of internal testing resources
    • Recruit and train/coach team members to align with testing objectives for manual and automation testing delivery
    • Complete timely and thorough annual performance reviews, career development plans and annual salary planning for direct reports

 

Specialist skills and experience

Main:

  • At least 10 years’ experience testing large scale solutions integrating with multiple source and target systems
  • Previous experience of line managing a team
  • Excellent analytic skills in identifying issues, bugs, defects, design errors and proven track record in aiding the development and design processes.
  • Experience defining and documenting test strategies and approaches
  • Experience implementing standardised testing processes and workflows across a team
  • Advanced level of expertise in database testing, including ETL, with excellent SQL skills
  • Advanced level of programmatic testing experience (APIs, services, Airflow DAGs) using appropriate tools
  • Previous success of establishing a test automation capability
  • Experience with a range of automated testing tools & bug tracking software
  • A good understanding of the BI development lifecycle
  • Understanding of data modelling
  • Experience of working within an Agile framework
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills

    Desirable:

  • Experience with Teradata & Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus
  • Experience with OLAP/Tabular Cubes would be useful
  • Previous experience in Sports Betting and eGaming would be useful
  • Working knowledge of Dev/Ops and CI/CD principles and toolsets
