What you will be doing:
General
- Be part of the product planning process to evaluate, explore, and model the product and features, as well as provide feedback from a user’s perspective.
- Create detailed and well-structured test strategies, and lead a team of manual and automated testing engineers to execute them.
- Create product coverage outlines, test plans, and mind maps of what is to be tested.
- Build an understanding of interdependencies between systems to pre-empt issues, or judge impact in case of failures.
- Be first point of contact for all bug reports, to confirm reproducibility and creation of test cases to avoid regressions.
- Calling out risks and quality concerns to product and discipline leadership when necessary.
- Lead our team of manual and automation QA engineers, managing their career progression and growth within the company
- Identifying, reporting and tracking defects, both functional and non-functional.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure quality requirements are understood and met.
- Make continuous self-education a priority. Keep up to date with the evolution of the testing industry.
- Drive passion, quality, best practice, and energy across the team.
- Be aware of the health of systems and services, and raise alarms as necessary.
Maintain release quality
- You are responsible for ensuring new products and releases are well tested between desktop, tablet, and mobile responsive
- Reviewing quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Meet business Requirements
- You are the champion of quality-focused on a comprehensive approach to testing to ensure the success of Unikrn’s products.
- You will craft test plans, establish testing requirements & quality bars, perform exploratory testing, and drive implementation of static and dynamic testing processes.
- In addition, you also build close relationships with partners and deliver product health reports on a regular cadence.
- You put the user first, and work closely with their development team to tackle ambiguous and complex problems to combat user pain.
Continuous Improvement
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
- Monitor debugging process results
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
What we are looking for:
- 5+ yrs proven work experience in software quality assurance, including automation.
- ~2 yrs leading a team of QA engineers, manual and automation.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes for manual and automated testing.
- Experience in writing and maintaining clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Able to liaise with distributed teams from different disciplines to deliver product goals on time.
- A keen eye for detail and though you're senior, you're comfortable being hands-on in a small team, start-up environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and friendly at all times.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Customer centric, "can do" attitude - Always curious about their experience.
