WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Advise: Work closely with engineering teams in influencing the design and development of systems that are resilient and highly performant at tremendous scale.
- Amplify: Identify and build capabilities into our foundational Infrastructure and Platform services, which are used by Entain engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate.
- Automate: Take repetitive, manual, or risky tasks and automate them out of existence. Build tools and integrate systems to support Entain’s evolution.
- Collaborate: work with your technical peers across the product lines to identify and prioritse performance areas of focus
- Diagnose: Draw on your knowledge of distributed systems to lead the identification and fixing of network, system, and service-level issues. Role model sustainable incident response, and drive structural improvement with blameless postmortems.
- Evangelise: Educate and enlighten all stakeholders around the mission of SRE
- Optimize: Observe and improve performance, reduce cost, and improve the experience for our users. Improve the deployment process to make it as boring as possible
WHO YOU ARE
- 2 years+ experience with the development and operation of high-traffic, high performance websites
- Extensive experience with caching both at the CDN and the data center tier at a high-traffic website.
- Specifically with Akamai, CloudFlare, or similar. Additionally Varnish, Nginx or similar.
- And identifying bottlenecks using mPulse, ELK or similar.
- A demonstrated ability to debug, fix, and optimize code
- Troubleshooting skills that span applications, networking (TCP/IP), and systems
